When I signed the lease for my studio, I had no idea what was in store for us. I was eager to launch my SoulCollage® practice, and set about designing my website and getting the word out among friends. Nobody could predict the pandemic, the shelter in place, the distance learning, and the subsequent economic upheaval, followed in short order by demonstrations for justice for our African American community.
So how to begin? When we find ourselves emerging from a difficult and broken place, often times the first steps are rightfully slow and careful. Most of us have experienced sadness and anxiety during this time, and have felt pressed to adjust to constantly changing conditions and needs.
Perhaps we have also learned quite a bit about our closest relationships, and our resiliency – a mixed bag of gratitude and humbling challenges. Some of us have mostly reveled in being at home, and feel resistance to “going back” to the way things were before. I think all of us are wondering what the new normal will look like.
A reframe is in order. Perhaps a deep dive into our multifaceted selves and experiences is a tonic we need. A safe and supportive process to help us pause, reflect, collect ourselves, and begin anew.
I am curious and enthusiastic about sharing SoulCollage® with you and exploring hopes, desires, and possibilities together.
Warmly,
Rachel
